Former Asante Kotoko defender Nurudeen Yussif Mohammed is eyeing a return to the pitch, four months after ditching football for nursing.The 31-year-old is nearing a switch back to the sport after Hearts of Oak made an audacious move to sign him in the second transfer window.The Ghanaian giants are determined to bring the hugely talented defender from Tamale to Accra where he's pursuing a career in nursing.Nurudeen Yussif Mohammed quits Asante Kotoko in August 2024  to prioritise his nursing career over football.Despite being a key player for the club and having a two-year contract, Kotoko agreed to release Nurudeen after unsuccessful attempts to secure a permanent transfer for him to Kumasi, back in August 2024.Nurudeen, who is a professional nurse based in Tamale, has expressed his commitment to his medical career.However, GHANAsoccernet.com understands that Hearts are willing to negotiate a deal that will see him get a transfer to Accra to feature for the Phobians.The defender could return to the pitch in the second half of the season if Hearts are able to pull a deal through in the next five days.
